Letters (Huruf) have many secrets, and these secrets are revealed by Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala. No one knows except His righteous and honourable servants to whom He has given knowledge.
The knowledge of Bast (Spreading / بسيط) and Duplication (تكثير) is noble, valuable and highly beneficial. With this knowledge, benefits can be attracted and losses can be repelled. Everything desired can be achieved with the permission of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala. This is a hidden treasure and there are three different ways to use these letters. These include Raqam (Marking / رَقَمَ), Letters and Numbers.
1. Raqam Bast: Placing each letter in its place according to its nature is called “Raqam Bast”.
For example:
ا ب ج د هــ و ز ح ط ي ك ل
Laam Kaaf Yaa’ Taa’ Haa’ Zaay Waw Ha’ Daal Jeem Ba’ Alif
2. Huruf Bast: Putting each letter in its place by pronouncing its name according to the way it is pronounced is called “Huruf Bast”.
For example:
اَ لِ فْ – بَ ا ءْ – جِ ي مْ – دَ ا لْ – هَــ ا ءْ – وَ ا وْ – زَ ا ءْ
Zaay Waw Ha’ Daal Jeem Ba’ Alif
3. Adad Bast: Changing the number of each letter into a letter and replacing it is called “Adad Bast”.
For example:
اَ حَ دْ اِ ثْ نِ ي نْ ثَ لَ ا ثَ هــ اَ رْ بَ عَ هْ
Arbaah Thalasah Isnin Ahad
4 3 2 1
HURUF BAST FORMS:
Let us explain how Huruf Bast are made, from the First Bast to the Fifth Bast. There are two types of Bast, one made with letters and the other made with numbers.
First Bast: Both the Letter Bast and Number Bast are the same.
Second Bast: The Letter Bast is obtained by adding the letters in the First Bast speech to the Numbers written in the First Bast.
Third Bast: Sum of the Numbers of the Second Bast
Fourth Bast: Number of Third Bast
Fifth Bast: Sum of Fourth Bast Numbers
Let’s explain the Huruf Bast by giving the example of the letter Alif (ا) to make it easier to understand.
First Bast: The numerical equivalent of the letter Alif is one (1). Its spelling in Arabic is Ahad. We write the word Ahad:
ا ح د
Daal Haa’ Alif
4 8 1
We put these numbers together, totalling thirteen (13). The number of the letters is three (3). We add them together and it becomes 16.
Second Bast: The number of skins of the First Bast on the letter Alif is 16. This letter appears :
و ي
Yaa’ Waw
The numerical equivalent of these letters in Arabic is as follows:
سِتَّةْ عَشَرَهْ
Asyarah Sittah
10 6
If we write this letter as a Muqatta’at Letter:
س ت هــ ع ش ر هــ
Ha’ Raa’ Shin Ain Ha’ Taa’ Seen
The numerical equation of these letters is as follows: 60 + 400 + 5 + 70 +300 +200 +5 = 1040. Since these letters are seven (7) in number, we add the number 7 to the number 1040 and the result becomes 1047. The Second Bast of the letter Alif is 1047.
Third Bast: We based on the number 1047 which is the Second Bast of the letter Alif, and came up with the following letters:
ز م غ
Ghain Mim Zaay
Spelling the numerical equivalents of these letters in Arabic:
سَبْعَةْ اَرْبَعِينْ اَلِفْ
1000 40 7
If we write this letter as a Muqatta’at Letter:
س ب ع هــ ا ر ب ع ي ن ا ل ف
Alif Arbain Sab’ah
We take the numerical equation of these letters: 60 + 2 + 70 + 5 + 1 + 200 + 2 + 70 + 10 + 50 + 1 + 30 + 80 = 581. Since there are thirteen (13) letters, we add the number 13 to the number 581, totalling 594. This is the Third Bast of the letter Alif.
Fourth Bast: We based on the number 594 which is the Third Bast of the letter Alif, and came up with the following letters:
د ص ث
Tha Saad Daal
Spelling the numerical equivalents of these letters in Arabic:
اَرْبَعَةْ تِسْعِينْ خَمْسَمِائَةْ
Hamsamiah Tisin Arbaah
500 90 4
We take the numerical equation of these letters: 1 + 200 + 2 + 70 + 5 + 400 + 60 + 70 + 10 + 50 + 600 + 40 + 60 + 40 + 1 + 10 + 5 = 1624. Since there are thirteen (17) letters, we add the number 17 to the number 1624, totalling 1641. This is the Fourth Bast of the letter Alif.
Fifth Bast: We take the number 1641 of the Fourth Bast from the letter Alif, and base it on that Bast. The letters are:
ا م خ غ
Ghain Kha Mim Alif
The spelling of the numerical equivalents of these letters in Arabic:
اَحَدْ اَرْبَعِينْ سِتَّمِائَةْ اَلِفْ
1000 600 40 1
If we write this letter as a Muqatta’at Letter:
ا ح د ا ر ب ع ي ن س ت م ا ء هــ ا ل ف
Alif Sittamiah Arbain Ahad
We take the numerical equation of these letters: 1+8+4+1+200+2+70+10+50+60+400+40+1+10+5+1+30+80=973. Since there are eighteen (18) letters we add the number 18 to the number 973, totalling 991. This is the Fifth Bast of the letter Alif.
Thus, you make the other twenty-seven (27) letters in this sequence. From First Bast to Second Bast, from Second Bast to Third Bast, from Third Bast to Fourth Bast, and from Fourth Bast to Fifth Bast. This calculation will take a lot of time, therefore using the Kalkulator Hisab will speed up this calculation.
